Show host: Corrie McDermott intothesunstudio@aol.com
Show Hall: 39 Newton St. Westport MA 02790
Show hall opens at 8am. Show begins promptly at 9am.
JUDGES: OF Division: Linda White AR/CM division: Corrie McDermott
LIMITS: This show will be a breed qualifying show only for OF Plastic , OF Plastic Foals , AR/CM and AR/CM Foals of classic scale size only . Foals are not allowed to show in the adult division. Showers must note that show strings are limited to 20 horses per shower. 3 entries per shower per class. Due to space/nature of the show hall showers must be willing to keep their models on places such as tv trays, deep picture window sills, top of the entertainment center , coffee tables and other such areas. Showers will also be allowed to show out of totes. Please no extra large totes. We can store these down the hallway if you need to bring one, but it will be too cramped to show out of them by your seat. Proxy showing will be allowed. Limit is 5 horses total for proxy showers. Proxy showers must have a Region X number, use the Tag Manager system and have a list to hand in with their shower of their horses. RULES:
No set-ups or handlers in halter classes. Halters if used, must be appropriate to the breed, fit well, and must be put on in a timely fashion.
You may include breed documentation but please limit your documentation to about 5 x7 in size or smaller.
Models may be laid down on felt or fabric, but the judge reserves the right to pick up and examine the model.
No radios, pets, smoking or small children.
Selling models, tack, etc will only be allowed if the weather is nice that way sales can be arranged out on the sundeck connecting to one of the show hall rooms.
The decision of the judges is final. If you have any questions regarding your entry, address them to a judge immediately after the class is pinned, while the reasons are fresh in the judge's mind.
The show coordinator, judges, and hall can not be held responsible for loss, damage, theft, or injuries to participants, their property, or guests. Due to the small space of the show hall, we do ask all showers and any guests to please be aware of their surroundings.
The most important rule of all is to have fun. This show is being held in a much smaller hall than most model horse shows, but should be fun for all who attend.
TAGS: There will be a ribbon recycling program. Please turn in any unwanted flats or rosettes to the recycling box at the end of the show. This will help keep costs low for future shows. GENERAL INFO: SCCL will also be looking to obtain Region X Regionals qualifying status. Any model placing 1st or 2nd in any division will receive a Region X card making the model eligible to show in the stakes classes at the 2009/2010 Regionals.
You will need to provide your own leg tags. South Coast Classics Live is a participant in the region 10 tag system. Please contact Jackie Arns at mailto:drsteggy@drsteggy.comto obtain your exhibitor number and instructions on creating your tags. You will need to turn in your list of horses and numbers prior to the start of the show. The show will be using the Tag Manager system. Please visit Region X Nation for more information.
AWARDS:
All classes will place to 6th place with homemade paper ribbons. There will be special commercial flats for Top fives and top tens. Commercial rosettes for all for the Champion and Reserve Champion of each division.
SCCL will be looking to obtain NAMHSA® (North American Model Horse Shows Association®) qualifying show status. Any horse placing 1st or 2nd in any division will be eligible to show in the 2010 or 2011 NAN®. Please read the information about NAN tickets on the NAMHSA website: http://www.namhsa.org/. Please be advised: NAN® is for model HORSES and OTHER EQUINES ONLY. Animals other than equines will not receive NAN tickets.
There will be about 2-3 minutes between classes to allow for halter switching and adjustments.
Classes may be split or combined if number of entries warrant. If there are too few entries in a particular class, the judge may decide to combine it with another similar class in order to warrant first and second place winners a fair NAN qualification.
There will be a 30 minute lunch break around 12:00 pm (or when it is convenient to break). During lunch the AR/CM rings in the kitchen will be cleared so that anyone wishing to eat in the kitchen may do so. After the show: When the show has finished if anyone would like to stay for a dinner outing or to enjoy our swimming pool please feel free to extend your stay. Hopefully the weather will be nice.
LUNCH:
We will be ordering pizza to be delivered for around noontime. Lunch will be $5 and will include pizza, drinks (soda and water) as well as dessert. You may also bring your own lunch which can be stored in the fridge and heated in the microwave if needed.
